The Charleston County Sheriff's Office recognizes that making deputies available to private employers for security purposes provides an additional level of crime prevention, a reduction in calls for service and relationship development within our community. The Charleston County Sheriff's Office proudly serves the citizens, businesses, and organizations within Charleston County by providing professional law enforcement services at an affordable hourly rate.

Effective April 21st, 2025

In order to efficiently respond to requests and manage the employment of off-duty deputies, The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with Extra Duty Solutions to provide services related to hiring off-duty deputies effective April 21st , 2025.

    • Job-status
    • Deputy attendance
    • Field notes and media files
    • Post orders and instructions
    • Past and future shift information
  • Full liability coverage for the vendor, the agency, and the deputy
  • 24/7 vendor service through their toll-free number
  • Dedicated point of contact for scheduling and invoicing, and payroll.

4 Hours Minimum per Request - Requesters may increase the rate of pay at their sole discretion.

  • President's Day - Monday, February 16th 2026
  • Easter Sunday - Sunday, April 5th, 2026
  • Memorial Day Observance - Monday, May 25th 2026
  • Juneteenth/Emancipation Day - Friday, June 19th 2026
  • Independence Day Observance - Friday, July 3rd 2026
  • Labor Day - Monday, September 7th 2026
  • Veterans Day - Wednesday, November 11th 2026
  • Thanksgiving Day - Thursday, November 26th 2026
  • Day After Thanksgiving - Friday, November 27th 2026
  • Christmas Holiday (Day 1) Christmas Eve - Thursday, December 24th 2026
  • Christmas Holiday (Day 2) Christmas Day - Friday, December 25th 2026
  • Christmas Holiday (Day 3) Day After Christmas Observance - Monday, December 28th 2026
Cancellation Policy

Customer cancelling or reducing an assignment within 24 hours of the start of the assignment shall pay the greater of officer hours worked or the agency minimum hours plus ODM administrative fees.
