Administrative Support Services is the administrative and logistical support division for the Sheriff's Office.

Records
The records section maintains and disseminates all reports submitted by deputies of incidents handled during the performance of their duties. This paperwork is disseminated to local, state and federal agencies as required by law. The records section also completes expungements, issues non-ferrous metal permits, and performs criminal background checks in accordance with the law. A request for an Incident or Accident Report can be made in person with proper identification or emailed to RecordsI@CharlestonCounty.org.

Accreditation/Re-Accreditation
The Accreditation Division works directly with the Sheriff in the creation and development of plans and programs which are designed to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. This includes responsibility and management for all agency accreditation and re-accreditation efforts, policies and procedures, the planning and research function, agency goals and objectives, multi-year planning, inspectional services, and special projects.

Human Resources
The Human Resources Office is responsible for the recruitment and selection of personnel for the law enforcement, detention, and civilian components of the Sheriff's Office. The office also maintains the personnel records of all employees. It handles insurance related questions and discrepancies. The following is a list of requirements for employment as a Deputy Sheriff or Detention Deputy:
Minimum Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen
- 21 Years of Age
- Valid SC Driver's License
- High School Diploma (state issued) or GED
- No Convictions of ANY CRIME OTHER THAN MINOR TRAFFIC OFFENSES

Candidates who have fulfilled the pre-employment requirements must successfully complete the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy Training Program and a one year probationary period.

Finance/Budget Office
The Finance Office is responsible for the preparation and management of the Sheriff's Office $54.9 million dollar annual general fund budget and its $2.1 million dollar Special Revenue and Grant funded budgets. These budgets are divided into two divisions: Law Enforcement and Detention Center. The annual budgets include Personnel (salary, overtime, holiday, fringe benefits, etc.); Operational (daily office and operational supplies and equipment) and, Capital Expenditures.
Information Technology Services
Information Technology Services is responsible for providing all technical support for the Sheriff's Office. In a constantly evolving field, the ITS department is tasked with learning and implementing new and cutting edge enterprise and law enforcement technologies. This also includes in house development and enhancements of legacy systems as well as acquired third party systems.
Some of the ITS department's responsibilities are maintaining and providing support for desktops, mobile data terminals, mobile command vehicles, cell phones, tablets, security access and video recording systems, network activities and software systems used throughout the agency. It is the ITS department"s goal to ensures these systems function in an ever-ready state, through the use of enterprise level monitoring and backups, all supported by disaster recovery and failover planning.
Logistics
Logistics is responsible for meeting the uniform, office supplies and facilities maintenance requirements of the Sheriff's Office. This includes the acquisition, inventory, tracking, and distribution of capital equipment, expendable supplies, weapons and other law enforcement equipment. The Logistics unit also manages the Sheriff's Office fleet of approximately 300 vehicles and supports our boats and aircraft as necessary. This unit monitors the up-fit of new vehicles and the disposal of vehicles and equipment at the conclusion of service life.
