The Charleston County Coroner's Office maintains records regarding medicolegal death investigations. Records include the Coroner's Report, Autopsy Report and Full Investigative Files. The Coroner's Report is the only record available to the public under FOIA. The Fee Schedule is as below:
- Coroner's Report: $25 / No Charge for the legal next-of-kin.
- Autopsy Report: $150 / No Charge for the legal next-of-kin. Not available under FOIA.
- Full Investigative File: Please contact our office for more information.
Please note that we investigate and hold records of people who die in Charleston County. We are not affiliated with the Medical University of South Carolina. If someone dies at MUSC but was transported from an outside county, you will need to contact that Coroner's Office for records.
